Operators of French airports Schiphol and Aeroports de Paris intend to make a bid for joint participation in the auction of the Galeão airport in Rio de Janeiro, and Confins airport, in Minas Gerais.

Jos Nijhuis, Schiphol’s chief executive, said a Dutch broadcaster that the company has teamed with ADP and also a Brazilian construction company, to offer a bid for 50% of the airport in Rio.

Brazil’s interest is to sell up to 51% equity in the administration of the two airports to companies that can make investments and improvements to the 2014 World Cup.

The Department of Civil Aviation (SAC) had informed it expects investments around R $ 11.4 billion for airports.
The group Schiphol state already has a partnership with ADP since 2008 in the administration of the Amsterdam airport and a terminal at JFK in New York.
