José Manuel da Costa, 67, is a former flight attendant of Varig and doesn’t receive his additional retirement seven years ago. This fact motivated the retiree to install himself at a seat of Santos Dumont Airport in Rio de Janeiro, on hunger strike.

The retiree asks Justice to release supplement that gets to have worked for 32 years in Varig discounting part of the salary to the pension fund Aerus.

After the bankruptcy of the airline, the fund has dwindled, without the possibility of offering the benefit to retirees. According to José Manuel, some of his friends had to sell the properties and other assets in order to pay for expenses.

After the process had reach up the Supreme Court, José Manuel left a group of elderly people who had occupied the seat of Aerus pension fund, which is located in the center of Rio, then start the hunger strike. According to the retired, measures like that were made before, without results.
